US Day 3 - Orientation

It's the very first day of school.
We will have a orientation and a level exam.

The orientation is funny because the staffs here are humorous.
The entry exam begin at about 10:30 and the test is just like the GEPT in Taiwan.
The first part is listening comprehension and the second one is the reading and understanding.
What I can said is the education of Taiwan is fantastic.
The exam is very easy for the students of Taiwan since they do those for many many times before.
I know that I will have a good great which doesn't mean I have the equal ability to have the class.

Then, we have a lunch in KFC.
The KFC here is suck!!! TOTAL SUCK!!!
The chicken is too dry. Both Lynn and I agree that the KFC in Taiwan is better.

We have a three-hour free time for fooling around since the topic of the following speaking is NOMB.
We go shopping at the Manhattan mall, and we visit the Macy's departmant store.
The surprising thing is that the escalators of Macy's is made by woods.

After we go back to the class room, we get our scores.
There are seven levels and my level is "Advaced" which is the second high level.
Lynn get the "High Intermidiate 2" which is the third one.
Hard to believe, isn't it?

US Day 2 - Shopping in Long Island

It's weekend when I arrived U.S., so the first thing I saw was how people spend their weekend.
Most of the Americans enjoy their weekend by shopping and take a sun bath.
We are going to shopping today.

Long Island is the west of Queens and Bruklins, and there are resturants, shopping mall, outlet, and the beach.
People live there too.

We have pizza for our lunch.
The pizza here is delicious, since it isn't salty or spicy.
Most importantly, the pizza is made by brick oven.
It's really hard to see in Taiwan.

We take three shopping more, but I forget their names.
The first one is a kind of outlet, and there are many good stuff inside.
There are kinds of clothes, pants, dresses, shoes, backpacks, and so on.
However, I buy nothing there since I don't know what I need to buy.
The second one is a very very big outlet.
The third one is sporting mall, and I buy something finally.
I buy three C.M. Wang's jersey there, USD 80 each with 4.875 tax.

It's funny that most of things in U.S. will have tax plus when you buy it.
They don't add the tax on it before they sell it.
But in Manhattan, the clothes under USD 110 are tax free.
So we have to consider about the tax or the tax free add on when we buy something.

US Day 1 - Subway & Manhattan

Today is my first tour on subway and we are going to Manhattan.
It's just like the MRT system in Taiwan.

Manhattan is a modern city.
There are many high buildings.

We visit many hot spots today.
I think we will visit them again in the following month.
So... Let's call it a day.

Btw, I add a new link to my picasa on the blog.
Visit it ^_^

US Day 0 - Arrival!

It's very boring to stay on the plane.Furthermore, I spent more than 15 hours on the plane today. The flight from TPE to ANG is really impressing. The airhostesses are sweet and the foods are fantastic.Out flight was landed in Anchorage for refilling and the passengers had to go through entry formalities there.

Anchorage is a city of Allaska, which is famous for its Eskimos, Eskimo dogs and the brown bear. There are many toys about those in the duty-free shop. The weather in Anchorage wasn't very well. It was rainning and only 13°c outside.I used my laptop there and looked for anybody who doesn't sleep yet.Luckily, Potatos was there and we chatted for a while.During we chatted, Lynn found a cute picture on the guide of Anchorage.
(Left One- Two cubs are fighting)

The flight from ANG to JFK is a sleepy tour.Since it departed at 4:00 a.m.(Taiwan) and arrived at 10:30 a.m.(Taiwan)
Now I am in the house of my dearest Auntie Teresa.

Survivor

It's almost seven o'clock now on July 13th, Black Friday!!!
Well, it's also my starting day for this trip.
I am going to New York for a month for language learning.
Unfortunely, it's rainy this morning in Kaohsiung, and the cloud seem to be heavy.
I am not so sure about whether I can survive in New York by my own.
No matter the speaking, listening, and reading, I have no confidence to do it well.
However, I want to take a try, just one time.
I will miss you guys in Taiwan.

I don't package all my packages, so ... see you!~
